Great value for money, great breakfast included, amazing location and helpful staff
Only one shower/toilet for the shared bathroom rooms
The hotel staff was very friendly and accommodating. The location is quiet yet central, very close to the cathedral and Uffizi.
The entrance is not at all well marked, making it very easy to miss even if you know where it is. The hotel shares a building with other tenants, and the name is on the doorbell, but there is no signage.
Location was brilliant in the centre of Florence
Location was perfect, breakfast sufficient. I liked the old building - thick and unstraight walls. The athmosphere was pleasant and peaceful. We liked that we could use the fridge. Good, that internet connection was possible in the lobby
I did not realise from the description that the rooms do not have a bathroom, it was an unpleasant surprise.
The rooms are very spacious with high ceilings. The staff was extremely helpful by booking tickets for the Uffizi and the galleria d'Academia for us. The hotel is also very clean.
The only things missing were airconditioning and a toilet en suite.
Nice location and staff. I would recommend it.
Its a little difficult to find since there is no large sign.
Best thing was the friendly staff, very helpful; they helped me make the best out of my trip by recommending local restaurants, transportation and shopping. Can't beat the location for the price.
The only thing that was a bit of a challenge was climbing up all the stairs, but I guess many budget hotels in Europe in older buildings have this downside. The only other complaint is the towels, they were more like tablecloths in how thin they were, I'm glad I brought my own. Other than that it was a good experience all around.
I loved this place. I could have stayed here for weeks and I want to bring my family back here. The rooms are large, our room had a view of the Duomo and it was quiete and private as it was in a courtyard. The staff were fantastic, the atmosphere was really chilled out. It reminded me of the room in the movie "a Room with a View". The bells rang in the morning at 7am and the swallows circled around early and I watched them as I woke up. Breakfast was simple but good; yoghurt, canned fruit?, Cheeses, cereals, juice, jams, bread roles, tea and coffee - no hot chocolate. We stayed in room no 6 with a shower but no bathroom. There are other rooms that have private bath and shower and are very big - no 20 I think. Location was fantastic as it was right near the Duomo
There was no lift so we had to walk with heavy bags up three flights of stairs. We were ok with this but not if you are less able. No air conditioning but the windows let in plenty of air and there is a fan in the room...but I am from Australia so this might be a problem for some people.
It was the biggest room i ever stayed in. I have a bad knee an elevator would have been great! Everything was super the staff warm and helpful. Loved it. Bravo I will stay again. thank You Patti smyth
The location is great. Nearby the Cathedral, Uffizi gallery and city centre. Very convenient! The breakfast is not bad. They cleaned the room everyday and even help fold my clothes. And the receptionists are all helpful. And they helped me book the tickets to the gallery for free.
My room is way too close to the lobby. I can hear almost anything from the lobby. Even when ppl were chatting with others on skype. It's like i was sleeping in the lobby. But i was so tired. So i had no problem sleeping.
The hotel has an unbelievable location in the center of the city. The rooms were very spacious and quite cool with all the fresco's on the walls.
We booked a room with its own shower and I didn't realize that this doesn't automatically mean that the room has a toilet as well, so were unpleasantly surprised. Also, some travelers complained they had to take their luggage to the second floor, which I didn't think was a big deal but consider the length of the stairs and the fact it's practically the 3rd or 4th floor respectfully it can be challenge. Upon checking, we were given directions to the closest parking lot and the directions were wrong, so we had to drive around the city for a while.
The location was great! The history of the hotel as a former residence of the Medici was also fascinating.
The room was small, and we did not realize that there were rooms with bathrooms (we shared a bathroom down the hall).
Breakfast in the morning.
It was noisy. The walls were made of paper. The outside toilet was tiny and cramped and right beside my room so it was noisy. The room was also quite basic. The staff could have been more obliging and helped me with my big pieces of luggage to the room but just looked on instead. The towels were also like tablecloths. A lot of little complaints, I know. But when you pay almost 45 euro for a room you expect a little more.
The hotel building was splendid, rooms are large, high ceilings and wall ornaments.. Affordable place right inside the city centre, nice street with bakeries and gelaterias!
Breakfast could have been better..
Helpful staffs. Good location.
Someone might not like old buildings.
